if you don't find an answer to your question.
The short answer is, yes. For remote Ceremony sites we typically opt for a battery powered generator because of their silent operating ability. For Field-events, we generally utilize the use of a gas powered generator because of their ability to typically run longer (up to 8 hours).
The time frame outlined in whichever package you choose is defined as "performance time" and is specifically reserved for exactly that. All setup and breakdown is already factored into the price of the package and will not affect your reserved performance time.
When it comes to planning the music for your event, I like to break it into stages. Stage one is getting planners out to you to help you begin organizing your ideas. From there I will create custom playlists on Spotify and share the links with you. From there you can begin adding your requests while you work through filling in your planners. I will also be editing and adding to your playlists on the other end, working more like a "collaboration." Generally the majority of the music planning happens a month out from the date of your event, although we can get started as soon as you'd like! At any point we can schedule any needed "Jam Sessions" to discuss your preferences and specific needs in greater detail. Final stage happens a week out from your event where we finalize all music requests and nail down the final plan for your event!
I offer two different styles of microphone for every event. One being the Portable Lavalier Mic, which clips to any folded material on your person. The second style of microphone I provide is the more commonly known Handheld Wireless Mic. My personal recommendation for microphones used during a Ceremony is always the Lavalier Mic as it is more visually appealing, and can be set to a distinct sensitivity to fit the needs of the environment your using it in.
I like to think of my style of mixing as an audible "collage." I like to let some songs breathe, and use other's to help bridge the gap from one beloved classic to the next! My style is based on creating a cohesive blend of different sounds that share one similar characteristic, whether it be the key that they are in or the tempo of the drums. I am not one for enjoying a "blank space" between songs, so I am always making sure to blend intentionally from song to song.
When I am performing, I pay very close attention to the energy in the room to help find where people are comfortable, and stay there for a while!
Yes!! Unless otherwise "requested" lol! I always encourage client's who are very concerned with their guest experience to allow for requests. This really gives your guests the freedom to feel like they are a part of the event, and it can create unique experiences on the dance floor when I am met with the challenge of mixing in a song I hadn't planned to! I will always use my best judgement when incorporating requests, so there should never be a worry that the party might fly off the rails or come to a dead stop.
I listen to EVERY genre and style of music in my personal time. My favorites for sure are genres like Classic & Alt Rock, Oldschool Underground Hip Hop, Soul & Nu-Soul, Latin and Afro-beats, different origins of Folk (man does the list go on!) and from time to time you'll catch me just listening to Frequencies to help balance the mind and body.
My favorite styles of music to mix are Rock and Hip Hop because they share so many elements of sound.
I do require a Reservation fee to lock in your date in my calendar. The Reservation fee is 20% of your overall package price, and is applied to the final amount due. This fee is nonrefundable.
For all events, I do require that there be an Event Coordinator present. Whether this is a hired professional or a trusted friend or family member, I can't stress how important it is to have someone to fill this role. As your DJ, it is my job to focus on the music, your guests, and any announcements that need to be made. Although I have stood in for the role of Coordinator in the past, it is not something I will currently commit to because of my understanding of how much attention goes into this role, and how it can negatively affect my role as your DJ.
